Howdy. I’m remixing my dissertation, Bachelors of Arts : Bachelorhood and the Construction of Literary Identity in Antebellum America, as a work of digital scholarship. In my blog Digital Scholarship in the Humanities, I discuss larger issues in digital humanities, such as finding information using web-based research sources, manipulating information with analytical tools, and disseminating scholarship online. As the title suggests, “Lisa Spiro’s Research Notes” functions more as a daily journal of my research activities. I intend to use it mainly so I can track my own progress and jot down observations, so my writing here will be fast and informal, more brainstorming than the focused construction of an argument. I am making these rough notes available online in the spirit of openness. If you have any questions, please contact me, Lisa Spiro, at lspiro + @rice.edu.
